Supermodel Christie Brinkley made an unscheduled trip to Miami from the Turks and Caicos Islands for medical treatment after a run-in with a bird.
Brinkley posted images on her Instagram account Monday, showing her swollen eye and stitches.

"We interrupt this holiday to take a little unplanned excursion to Miami for cat scans and stitches following an accident trying to save a bird," she wrote.
In the post Brinkley also thanked "our wonderful Parrot Cay Family who got me to the boat and plane."
She went on to thank her "friends in Miami who found my A Team at University of Miami Hospital led by Dr. Askari and his professional caring and adorable team."
