Miami-Dade Police detectives are investigating an armed sexual assault that occurred earlier this week.
It happened on Jan. 19 around 8 p.m. on the busway in the area between Southwest 283rd Street and Southwest 157th Avenue.
Police said the victim had just exited the public transit bus. As she was walking, she told police she was confronted by a suspect who threatened her with a knife, robbed her of her personal belongings and sexually assaulted her.
He was described as a black male in his 40s, approximately 5'2" and was wearing dark clothing. He was seen leaving the area on a black mountain bike.
MDPD is asking for the public's assistance in determining whether there have been any similar incidents involving anyone matching this description.
Police are also reminding everyone to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings at all times.
