Suspect Who Shot Man During Attempted Home Invasion in Pompano Beach Sought

Authorities are hoping a new sketch can help them find a suspect who shot a man during an attempted home invasion in Pompano Beach earlier this month.

The Broward Sheriff's Office on Thursday released the sketch of the suspect in the shooting that happened Sept. 1 at a home in the 2800 block of North Course Drive.

Officials said the suspect followed the victim to his home. When the victim saw a gun barrel enter the opening of his doorway, the victim started to shut the door forcefully on the gunman, who fired multiple rounds into the home.

The victim was shot several times and was taken to Broward Health North with non-life threatening injuries. No one else was injured.

The suspect was described as a black male, possibly in his late 20s or early 30s, about 5-foot-8 with a stocky build and a beard. Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
