SUV Carjacked with Child Still Inside in South Miami Heights: Police

Miami-Dade Police are searching for two suspects accused of carjacking a vehicle outside a daycare with a 5-year-old child still inside Monday morning.

The child was in the backseat of a 2000 gold Chevy Suburban when it was carjacked outside the Kiddy Academy daycare, located in the11000 block of Quail Roost Drive in South Miami Heights, police said.

Albert Sorribes, 25, was dropping off his twin boys at the daycare and left his son inside the running car when it was stolen, police said.

"He was leaving the kids over there at the daycare and he took the two twins inside and when he turned around to get the other one, the car was gone," grandfather Pablo Gerardo said.

According to reports, the child was found still strapped in the backseat of the vehicle in the 11000 block of Southwest 197th Street after a 10 minute search.

The child was not injured and was reunited with his family, police said.

A search continues for the two suspects.
