Teen Wanted in Serial Car Burglaries Arrested: Pinecrest Police

Two men, including a teen wanted for dozens of serial car burglaries, were arrested after they tried to break into a home in Pinecrest, police said.

Jeremiah Davis, 19, and Markeith Robert Nickels, 21, were arrested Tuesday after trying to break into the home in the 6400 block of 92nd Street, Pinecrest Police said.

Both were being held on $17,500 bond Wednesday, Miami-Dade jail records showed. It was unknown if they've hired attorneys.

Police said Davis, who was wanted by South Miami Police for the car burglaries, and Markeith were seen jumping over a fence by an alert UPS driver who reported the suspicious activity.

An investigation revealed the men entered the home's porch through an unlocked door and used a brick to smash an impact resistant glass rear door. They were unable to get into the home but caused $2,000 damage to the home, police said.

The men were caught after officers spotted them riding bicycles in the area, police said.
