Thief Uses Sleight of Hand to Steal Cross at Oakland Park Jewelry Shop

The theft happened back on Sept. 8 at Zeina Jewelry at the Oakland Park Flea Market and was caught on surveillance cameras

Authorities are searching for three suspects who they say used distraction techniques and sleight of hand to steal a cross at a jewelry shop in Oakland Park.

The theft happened back on Sept. 8 at Zeina Jewelry at the Oakland Park Flea Market and was caught on surveillance cameras, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said.

Officials said two women and a man were looking at items, and at one point the man used sleight of hand to steal a cross from a jewelry box while an employee spoke with the two women.

The three agreed to buy an item but said they had to get money from an ATM and never returned. The employee didn't realize the theft happened until a couple days later.

Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
