Thieves Rob Miami Lumber Store at Gunpoint, Tie Up Worker

Police are looking for a pair of armed thieves who robbed and tied up a lumber store worker in Miami in an incident that was caught on camera.

The robbery happened around 5:30 a.m. Monday at Shell Lumber at 2733 Southwest 27th Avenue, Miami Police said.

Surveillance footage from inside the business showed the two masked suspects hold a worker at gunpoint as they demanded he open the store's safe, which contained $11,000.

The men stole the money and fled the store but not before tying the worker up inside. They fled the scene in a white 4-door Nissan or Hyundai, police said.

According to the store manager, the victim was only set to work a few hours Monday, then was heading out of town on vacation. Police said he was not injured in the ordeal.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
