A Miami man is behind bars and is being accused of fondling a child at a trailer park, authorities said.
Manuel S. Fonseca, 66, was arrested Thursday on a charge of lewd and lascivious assault on a child, according to an arrest report.
Fonseca sells candy and snacks to the neighborhood children from his unit at a trailer park in the 1300 block of NW 79th Street, police said. The victim, a 9-year-old girl, got permission from her parents to buy candy from Fonseca.
Police said the victim told her mother that after she bought her candy, Fonseca asked for a kiss on the cheek. When she kissed him on the right cheek, Fonseca allegedly grabbed the girl's face and tried to kiss her on the mouth.
When she pulled away, Fonseca pulled her towards him and fondled her chest over her clothes, the arrest report stated. She ran away and told her mother.
Fonseca remains booked at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in lieu of $7,500 bond. It's unclear if he has an attorney.
