Truck Crashes Into Broward Family's Home, Flees the Scene: BSO

A family of three is lucky to be alive after a truck came crashing into their home near Fort Lauderdale Tuesday night then fled the scene.

The incident happened on Southwest 44th Avenue in the Broadview Park neighborhood in unincorporated Broward County around 10 p.m., Broward Sheriff's Office Fire Rescue officials said.

Officials said the pickup truck slammed into the front of the home and ended up in the living room. Thankfully the family was in another room and no one was injured.

Before the family had time to react, the truck fled the scene. The driver left a front bumper at the scene.

The house suffered significant structural damage, and the family is staying with friends until it can be repaired.
