Police arrested a Broward County woman they say was caught on camera stealing thousands of dollars in electronics and other items from a department store.

Surveillance video taken from the Target store located at 1200 S. Federal Highway in Pompano Beach around 8 a.m. on Tuesday show a woman in a pink shirt enter the store. Throughout her visit, the woman loaded a shopping cart with items that included computer kits, WiFi routers and televisions.

A short time later, the woman – who police identified as 25-year-old Jasmine McCartney – pushes the cart outside with a lost prevention employee from the store behind her, loading the items into a car parked outside before leaving the scene.

Deputies found the car moments later and attempted to stop it, but McCartney fled the scene and drove to a nearby home. McCartney was later arrested inside the home, where the stolen items were found along with an undetermined amount of drugs.

McCartney, who has warrants issued for her for previous robberies and had been repeatedly caught at that store according to a BSO arrest report, faces multiple charges for this latest incident.

Another person inside the car, 26-year-old Tiffany Sharpe, was also arrested and charged with several counts including trespassing and resisting arrest.
