Ex-Husband Shoots, Kills Wife in Hialeah Gardens: Police

A husband surrendered to police after his wife was found shot to death in Hialeah Gardens late Thursday night, officials said.

Miami-Dade Police said 35-year-old Diana Maria Castro was found suffering from a gunshot wound outside her car in the 8100 block of Northwest 99th Terrace. Fire rescue responded and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Later in the night, her ex-husband, 38-year-old Josue David Castro, responded to the Midwest District and surrendered to police, officials said.

He has been charged with first-degree murder and was booked into the Miami-Dade jail where he was being held without bond. It's unknown if he's hired an attorney.

Police said Josue Castro was waiting outside his wife's home for her to arrive, and once she did, he approached her and shot her multiple times.

Their two girls, ages 4 and 9, were inside Diana Castro's car at the time but weren't injured, police said.
