Woman Pistol-Whipped During Miami-Dade Pawn Shop Robbery

Police are looking for four suspects who pistol-whipped a woman during a violent armed robbery at a Miami-Dade pawn shop.

The robbery happened back on Jan. 16 at the shop at 18494 South Dixie Highway when the four masked suspects entered the business, grabbed the 40-year-old victim by the hair and hit her on the head with a gun, Miami-Dade Police said.

The woman was dragged into an office where one of the suspects demand she open the safe. When she was unable to do so, the suspect again hit her in the head with a gun, police said.

While that was happening, the other suspects smashed jewelry display cases and removed merchandise, fleeing with about $30,000 worth of items. Police said they fled in a dark brown Infiniti Q-50.

The woman suffered facial injuries and was taken to Jackson South Medical Center for treatment.

Police released surveillance photos of the suspects in the hope that they can be identified. Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
