Glam Slam: Put Some Spring In Your Makeup!
This weekend, we officially sprung our clocks forward… which means the season is upon us! In fact, it's just 11 days away. We turned to Celebrity Makeup Artist Napoleon Perdis (creator of two of my favorite makeup lines, Napoleon Perdis and NP Set) to fill us in on the must have makeup trends for Spring, as inspired by the latest looks to walk the runways!
THINK PALE AND PINK: "Pale pink lips are a major statement, seen at YSL and Ralph Lauren among other shows," Napoleon says. The nude lip (think Angelina Jolie and Freida Pinto at the Oscars) is similarly having a moment. The trick: use concealer before applying lipstick! Napoleon advises, "Dab some Napoleon Perdis China Doll Concealer on the lips and then follow with Napoleon Perdis DeVine Goddess in Hera on fair skin, Electra on medium skin tones and Calypso for darker skin tones."

EYES THAT SHINE: The smoky eye is always popular, but this season's spin on it is metallic, as seen by Perdis in Milan on the runways of Versace, Gucci, Missoni and Armani. "You can achieve this look by mixing your favorite Napoleon Perdis Loose Dust shade with a techno colored silver or eye-catching gold (try Loose Dusts #1, #17 or #34)."
WOW BROWS: According to Napoleon, "At Phillip Lim's Spring shows in New York, models sported full, natural brows. So true at Chanel. It's a new kind of low maintenance beauty." Beautiful, natural looking brows (like Natalie Portman's at the Oscars) are simply held in place with a brow gel or clear mascara like Napoleon Perdis Madame Crystal Mascara.
LASH LIFE: Beyonce loves her eye makeup to have a pop of color and this season it's all about colored lashes! To achieve this look, start with black mascara. Napoleon advises to then "add color to the tips with the Napoleon Perdis Lash Patrol Mascaras in Blinking Violet (Purple), Ultra Marine (Blue) or Emerald Forest (Green) or wear solo for show-stopping peepers."
