Kenya Launches Retaliation Airstrikes Against Al-Shabaab Camps in Somalia

The Kenyan military says it has launched airstrikes against two al-Shabaab camps in Somalia following attacks by the extremist group on a Kenyan college that killed 148 people, NBC News reported. Jets pounded the camps in Gondodowe and Ismail, both in the Gedo region bordering Kenya, the military source said on Monday. The attack — which could not immediately be confirmed by NBC News — would be the first major military response to last week's attack on the Garissa University College campus.
