WATCH: Man Sees Wife for First Time in 10 Years With “Bionic” Eye

A 68-year-old Minnesota man was able to see his wife for the first time in 10 years thanks to a "bionic" eye implant, NBC affiliate KARE reported. Allen Zderad was the fifteenth person in the country to receive the prosthetic eye implant, which helped correct his degenerative eye disease. Raymond Iezzi Jr., a researcher and ophthalmologist at the Mayo Clinic, fitted Zderad with the eye and its accompanying wearable computer. Even though Zderad still can't see the details of people's faces, he told the Mayo Clinic that the bionic eye makes it "easy" to see his wife, Carmen. "She's the most beautiful one in the room," he said.
