The Miami Marlins lost to the Atlanta Braves 6-1 on Wednesday which ended their three-game winning streak.

Nathan Eovaldi allowed five runs in the first two innings and then settled in for five shutout innings after that. Unfortunately for Eovaldi and the Marlins, those two innings cost them the game.

Eovaldi went seven innings in which he walked two, struck out two and allowed six hits. The right-hander fell to 5-6 on the season and saw his E.R.A rise to 4.20.

In the eighth, Sam Dyson entered and allowed an additional run to pad Atlanta's lead to five runs.

It was a tough day for the bats in Miami's lineup as the team combined for ten strikeouts against Braves' starter Ervin Santana. In addition to the strikeouts, Santana held the Marlins to only five hits and they were all singles.

Adeiny Hechavarria and Christian Yelich each had two hits and did not strike out at all. Donovan Solano and the aforementioned duo were the only three players in Miami's lineup to not strike out on Wednesday.

The Marlins had their opportunities to score but were unable to pick up timely hits. As a team, they left eight on base and were 1-7 with runners in scoring position.

The four-game series in Atlanta will wrap on Thursday when Henderson Alvarez takes the mound with Miami looking for a series win.
