Is the American influence of the Premier League about to take a hit? The club's American co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett are apparently in talks with Kuwait billionaire Nasser al Kharafi to buy the storied club.

Though thoroughly vilified on Merseyside since purchasing the club in 2007, Hicks has been reluctant to sell the club. He is intent on trying to build the club a new ground, and thus reap a huge financial reward.
