2011 seemed like a promising year for newlyweds Katy Perry and Russell Brand.
2011 seemed like a promising year for newlyweds Katy Perry and Russell Brand. The high-profile couple not only successfully sold their classic Los Feliz digs
back in July, but they also managed to scoop up a posh Hollywood Hills mansion
for $6.5 million. Fast forward to December 30, Brand filed for divorce from his "California Gurl" after just 14 months of marriage citing "irreconcilable differences."
While the duo's newly purchased Hollywood Hills mansion is spacious with seven bedrooms and over 8,800 square feet of interior living space, it certainly isn't large enough to house both husband and wife while they proceed with their divorce.
The question on everyone's minds is: who will stay and who will go? According to the folks over at TMZ, it's Russell Brand who is packing up his stuff and decamping from the sweet mansion, leaving the newly blue-haired Perry with the entire pad, including the four-room master suite.
Funnyman Brand is said to be moving just three miles away to a five-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom crib
in the Hollywood Hills. The bachelor's new (perhaps, temporary) digs include hardwood and terrazzo flooring throughout, a modern kitchen, and recessed lighting in every room. The home also includes a bachelor-worthy luxurious pool, spa, and wooden terrace.
The price to live in the five bedroom home only a few miles from his soon-to-be ex-wife? A steep $16,000 per month. Nobody ever said divorce is cheap. Just ask Christina Aguilera
, Kate Walsh
or Tony Danza
who all lost big time real estate bucks after each of their high-profile divorces.
