And speaking of cute plates, Crate and Barrel’s modern offshoot CB2 offers a slew of dinnerware that will impress even the toughest critic. Our personal favorite is the six-piece takeout set of dishes baring the sketch of Chinese takeout box and accompanied by bright chopsticks. Priced at $20.70, the porcelain-glazed dishes are both dishwasher- and microwave-safe—and hopefully, in-law approved.
