It's official: Michael Douglas has signed on to his first comic-book movie.

E! News confirms the two-time Oscar winner has joined the cast of Marvel's "Ant-Man" and is set to star opposite Paul Rudd in the Edgar Wright-directed flick.

Douglas will play Hank Pym while Rudd will star as Scott Lang in the sci-fi film, which is slated to hit theaters on July 31, 2015.

"With Hank Pym's rich history in the Marvel Universe, we knew we needed an actor capable of bringing the weight and stature to the role that the character deserves," Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said in a statement. "We felt incredibly relieved when Michael Douglas agreed to step into the part with the charm and fortitude he brings to every character he inhabits, and couldn't be more excited to see what he will do to bring Hank Pym to life."

In addition to the casting scoop, Douglas is also making headlines after winning the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a TV Movie or Miniseries on Sunday, Jan. 12 for his portrayal of Liberace in HBO's "Behind the Candelabra."

His win--Douglas' fourth Golden Globe--came after the Steven Soderbergh-directed picture was also named best TV movie.

The iconic actor thanked his costars, crew and his family, including wife Catherine Zeta Jones, as he accepted his accolade, before giving a special shout-out his costar Matt Damon, calling him the "bravest, talented actor" with whom he's ever worked.

"The only reason you're not here is...I had more sequins," the 69-year-old said to Damon onstage, gold statuette in hand.

From Liberace to "Ant-Man," it seems there's nothing that Douglas can't do.
