Gov. Rick Scott is asking President Obama to stop the furlough of air traffic controllers which were ordered to achieve spending cuts required by Congress. He says Florida will be disproportionately affected because it has four major airports across the state.
 
RECOVERY MISSION FOR MISSING BOY
 
Rescue crews have begun a recovery mission for a 6-year-old boy who went missing in a strong current on Florida's Gulf coast. The boy and his cousins were swimming near Longboat Pass Saturday evening when he disappeared in the water. His cousins were rescued.

The Anti-Defamation League is taking a unique approach to get its anti-bullying message out in South Florida. The group hosted a flash freeze along South Beach's famed Lincoln Road on Sunday.

The South Florida Chapter of the National Action Network has devised a panel to share best practices & avenues to increase parental engagement and pragmatic ways to stop the deadly cycle of gun violence. The panel will be held at Miami Jackson Senior High School, 1751 NW 36th Street at 7 p.m.
