Body Found in Lauderdale Lakes House Fire Identified as Teen

    The Broward Sheriff's Office has identified the teen who was found dead inside a burning Lauderdale Lakes home and said they're investigating his death as a homicide.

    Richard Reid, 18, lived at the house at 5061 Northwest 41st Street that went up in flames Friday night, BSO spokeswoman Dani Moschella said Sunday.

    Firefighters responded to the home around 8:30 p.m. and quickly extinguished the flames. They found the teen's body a short time later.

    Homicide detectives haven't said how Reid was killed and gave no other details about his death. The state fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
