Father Searching for Daughter's Killer 10 Years Later

Marissa Karp murder to be featured on "America's Most Wanted"

A decade after a Hallandale Beach teen was brutally murdered and her body was dumped in the Everglades, the heinous unsolved crime is receiving renewed attention thanks to her father's continuing quest for answers.

August 19 marked the 10-year anniversary of the murder of 17-year-old Marissa Karp, who was shot in the head and had her body stuffed in a bag and dumped in a canal near Mile Marker 52 on Alligator Alley.

Reward in Karp Murder

Her father, Gary Karp, hasn't given up hope that her killer will be found and brought to justice. Earlier this month, with the help of a local company, a digital billboard was put up along I-95 in Pembroke Park asking for information in the case.

"I wake up in the morning thinking about it, I go to bed thinking about it," Karp told NBC 6 Friday.

Friday night, the case will be featured on "America's Most Wanted," as host John Walsh and Karp will make public pleas for info on the killer.

"We're there, I know we're gonna solve this case, there are people out there that know what happened to Marissa, they were there, pick up the phone, it's time," Karp said.

The reward for information in the case is $2,800. Anyone with info is asked to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
