If this was a poker game, Alan Grayson is all-in and he ain’t bluffing.

Die Quickly

The Orlando Democrat took a shot at the Republican Party on Tuesday with an outburst that would make Rep. Joe Wilson proud.

During a speech on the House floor, Grayson told his fellow congressmen that the GOP was blocking President Obama’s healthcare reform plan because they wanted Americans to “die quickly” while holding a sign that read “The Republican Health Care Plan: Die Quickly.”

"If you get sick, America, the Republican health care plan is this: die quickly," he said. "The Republicans want you to die quickly if you get sick."

Well, you knew the GOP wouldn’t take that lying down like a sick, uninsured hospital patient.

Several Republicans have drafted a resolution demanding a public apology from Grayson, much like the Dems did to embarrass Wilson after he called Obama a yellow-bellied liar on national TV (well, he yelled "You lie," but either way those are political fighting words).

Republicans are calling Grayson’s actions a similar “breach in decorum.”

Grayson said he doesn't plan on apologizing. This is, after all, the man who seriously proposed a law mandating paid vacation. He stands behind what he says.

But his comments will only fuel an already venomous fight over healthcare that has politicians and citizens alike drawing lines in the sand.
