Broward Brush Fire Scorches 1,000 Acres

    Firefighters were working to contain a brush fire in western Broward Wednesday.

    Florida Forest Service officials said 1,000 acres have been burned in the fire, north of I-75 near mile marker 43.

    As of Wednesday afternoon, the fire was 70 percent contained.
