Over two months after an autistic boy was abandoned on a school bus for several hours in Dania Beach, police have arrested the bus driver and his aide.

Thomas Mobley, 64, and Sarah Brown, 58, were arrested by Pembroke Pines police this week in the May 23 incident, authorities said.

Police say the 6-year-old boy was left restrained in a seatbelt on the bus, without air conditioning, as it sat parked for five hours at a county bus depot at 900 S. University Drive.

The child, Aden, a kindergartener who attended Dania Beach Elementary, was found unharmed.

Pembroke Pines police said based on video evidence, Mobley and Brown failed to check the bus and failed to make sure every child was accounted for when they were dropped off at school.

Both Mobley, who was arrested Wednesday, and Brown, who was arrested Thursday, posted bond and were released, authorities said.

The boy's mother said she was considering filing a lawsuit against the school board.

"Just as a human being, you have a responsibility to say, 'you know what, this is a special needs child, let me make sure that I got nine kids on the bus, let's make sure I take nine kids off," said Aden's mother, Sophia Bramwell. "This definitely could have been avoided."
