    Police said they arrested 15 prostitutes and johns on Northwest Sixth Street in Fort Lauderdale.

    Fort Lauderdale Police arrested 15 prostitutes and johns after an undercover operation that concluded Friday, according to reports.

    The prostitutes offered sex for $5 to $100 to undercover law enforcement officers, the Sun Sentinel reported.

    According to a police report, the prostitutes ranged from 32 to 52 years old and the johns were 23 to 54 years old.

    A day after an allegedly armed man was shot and killed by undercover officers in Pompano Beach, authorities said they arrested and charged two other suspects with murder in the incident.

    Police conducted the undercover sting in the 1200 to 2300 blocks of Northwest Sixth Street on Thursday and in the 2100 block of Northwest Sixth Street on Friday, the newspaper said.

    Authorities said seven prostitutes and eight johns were arrested.

    23-year-old Johnny Wright was shot by police in Pompano Beach Tuesday afternoon after he drew a gun on an undercover Broward Sheriff's Office deputy and an undercover Coral Springs police officer, authorities said.

    "This is a quality-of-life issue that the people in the community won't stand for. That's our job, to address these types of issues," police Detective Travis Mandell told the Sentinel. "We won't stand for it and neither will the residents."
