BSO Investigating Fatal Shooting in Pompano Beach

Broward Sheriff's Office homicide detectives were investigating a shooting that left a man dead Tuesday in Pompano Beach.

BSO deputies responded to a shooting call around 4:10 p.m. in the front courtyard of a Pompano Beach residence.

Witnesses said 31-year-old Patrick Jean had been shot and friends had rushed him to Broward Health North Medical Center. Jean was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later. 

Detectives said as Jean played dominoes with friends in the courtyard in the 600 block of Northwest 5th Avenue, a vehicle pulled up and men who were known to the victim got out. There was a dispute and one of the men from the vehicle pulled out a gun and began firing, according to BSO.

No suspects have been arrested.
