Florida Sheriff's Office Seeks Home for Stray Donkey

Walton County Sheriff's officials tried to auction off a stray donkey they've been caring for, but no one showed up. Now, they're trying to find someone to adopt the donkey they've named Moses.

The donkey was dropped off at the sheriff's office about three weeks ago after the person who found him said he became too expensive to feed.

Since then, he's been living in a barn near the sheriff's headquarters. Deputy Tammy Henderson named him and has been feeding him every day. She told the Northwest Florida Daily News that Moses loves peppermints.

Officials placed a legal ad, but no one claimed the donkey. And no one bought him at the auction.

Spokeswoman Catherine Rodriguez says they're just hoping to find someone to give Moses a nice home.
