Miami Police on Tuesday were searching for a man they say pistol-whipped a woman, fatally shot her in front of their children and then fled.

Police said that on Feb. 6 at 12:30 a.m., officers went to an apartment in Overtown at 1232 NW 1 Place because they got a report of shots fired. When they arrived, they found 25-year-old Shaquendra Quenishea Williams unresponsive and lying in a pool of blood. She died at the scene.

Williams and 42-year-old Bertram 'Nobie" Frederick Clark had argued earlier in the night, authorities said. He went back to the home to confront her about her calling the police, authorities said.

With their children present, aged 3 and 7, he pistol-whipped her and then shot her multiple times, police said. He then fled and should be considered "armed and dangerous," police said.

Anyone with information Clark's whereabouts is urged to call authorities at 305-603-6350 or Crime Stoppers at 305-471-4877.

Police said it wasn't immediately clear if the pair was still in a relationship.

Meanwhile, friends and neighbors had set up a makeshift memorial outside the front door of the apartment.
