Man Found Shot Behind Hollywood Bar: Police

A man was found shot behind a bar in Hollywood, and police are searching for whoever is responsible.

Hollywood Police believe the shooting happened around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday in the alley behind the Octupus Bar at Hollywood Boulevard and South 20th Avenue.

Bartender Mike Siracusa showed up for work just moments later at about 4:45 a.m. and was startled by the scene.

"I walked out back and they go 'Stop!'" Siracusa says. "I was walking into a crime scene and I didn't even know it."

Police say someone called 911 after spotting the injured man in an alleyway behind the strip of bars and restaurants.

"I was really surprised. We never have trouble around here," Siracusa said.

The victim was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital, where his condition was unknown. Police have not released the victim's name.

Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
