Bredy broke into a bedroom window of the Davie home, located on the 7400 block of Silverado Court, during the early afternoon, authorities said. The man, surprised to find two children home alone, began to tie up the kids with rubber tubing he found inside, authorities said.

“He tells me to find the duct tape so he could tie me up, but he didn’t find any so he just got some rubber tubing and just tied my hands and put me in the bathroom,” said 15-year-old Wesley Chau.”

A neighbor, who noticed Bredy's vehicle parked at the home, knocked on the door. One of the children told the neighbor the home was being “robbed,” which caused the suspect to flee through the front door, according to authorities. The neighbor was able to record the suspect's license plate.

“If the neighbor didn’t come, he could have taken more or taken our lives,” said 12-year-old Kelvin Chau.

Bredy later confessed to the crime, Davie Police said.

The children, who were 12 and 14 years old, were not injured during the home invasion.

“I thought if you know, you showed him you’re scared, then he’d have the upper hand in the situation so I just kept self-control of the whole thing,” Wesley Chau said.
