Marlins Rally to Take Another From Cubs

The Marlins fought back and beat the MLB-best Chicago Cubs on Saturday

The Miami Marlins came from behind to beat the Chicago Cubs 9-6 on Saturday at Marlins Park.

The Marlins found themselves down by three runs heading into the fourth inning of play. This is when the team would begin its comeback attempt which ultimately ended up successful. Miami scored twice in the fourth inning and four more times in the fifth frame.

With the victory, Miami picked up its 40th win of the season. The Marlins are now only three games behind the National League East leading Washington Nationals. Miami is tied with the New York Mets for second place in the division. The win also gave Miami a two to one edge in the current series with one game to play.

Justin Bour hit a big home run for a second straight day. Bour's 14th home run of the season was of the two-run variety and came only a game after his second grand slam of the year. Bour who now has 43 runs batted in, also doubled for the tenth time this season.

Giancarlo Stanton played a huge role in the win with two hits including his ninth double of the year. Stanton also knocked in three runs and scored two of his own.

The win went to Paul Clemens who allowed four runs in his five innings of work. Clemens is now 1-0 with a 6.30 E.R.A in his two starts in a Miami uniform. The right-hander walked five and struck out four which led to a high pitch count and a short outing.

A.J. Ramos kept his save streak alive with his 24th save of the season. Ramos is perfect in save chances dating back to September of last season and has successfully converted 33 saves in a row. That ties a Marlins record which Steve Cishek previously held alone.

Miami will look for the series win on Sunday when it sends Jose Fernandez to the mound for the start.
