Miami rapper Mike "Magic Mike" Yuen has been sentenced to prison for two years and fined $12,500 for a telephone call that discussed a marijuana deal with someone in Biloxi, Miss., three years ago.

The 32-year-old Yuen was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Gulfport, Miss., on a guilty plea to using a communication facility in causing or facilitating the commission of a felony in violation of federal drug laws.

The Sun Herald reports Yuen faced up to four years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Yuen is a managing member of Magic City Records in Miami, where his music is especially popular in the Latin community.

Judge Louis Guirola Jr. imposed the sentence in Gulfport, and ordered one year of probation.
