More Arrests Made in Fatal Nightclub Shooting in Broward County

Broward Sheriff's Office detectives have now arrested four men for their alleged involvement in the death of a Pompano Beach man outside BAM Nightclub near Fort Lauderdale.

21-year-old Whatdly Petit was extradited from the Orange County jail to South Florida on Dec. 10 after being arrested there on a first-degree murder warrant for allegedly firing the shot that killed Joshua Rogers, 27.

The shooting happened around 4:20 a.m. on Nov. 25 at the nightclub located at 2829 West Broward Boulevard.

As a responding deputy arrived, club goers were scattering and Rogers was laying motionless in the parking lot. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Through the investigation, detectives determined Rogers and his friends were confronted by members of a local gang as they exited the club.

BSO said Awince Lasseur, 27, got into a verbal altercation that escalated into a fist fight. They said Lasseur beat Rogers until he lay unconscious on the ground.

Dieuphen Joseph, 27, joined in the beating by hitting Rogers repeatedly on the head with a bottle and Peudritto Joseph, 32, stomped on his head right before Petit shot him in the chest, according to investigators.

They obtained arrest warrants for all four alleged accomplices. Awince Lasseur was located in Plantation, Peudritto Joseph was located in Jacksonville, Dieuphen Joseph was arrested in Deerfield Beach and Petit was arrested in the Orlando area.

Lasseur and the Joseph brothers all face a charge of second-degree murder for their role in Rogers' death. Petit has been booked into the BSO Main Jail for allegedly firing the deadly shot, where he remains behind bars.

The other three suspects have been released on bond.
