An armed subject was shot by an officer after refusing to comply with officers as they conducted an undercover operation, according to North Miami Beach Police.
Authorities said officers were working a special undercover operation in the 1400 block of Northeast 159th Street early Saturday morning. They were parked on the swale when for no apparent reason, an armed subject came out of a nearby house and approached the officers just before 1:30 a.m., police said.
Police told the man to show his hands, but he refused to comply, and at some point, an officer fired shots at the suspect, according to a press release.
The man was struck twice and taken to Ryder Trauma Center where he is in stable condition, police said.
No further details were immediately available.
