A pedestrian was hospitalized after they were struck by a car in Miami Gardens Monday morning.

The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. on Miami Gardens Drive near Northwest 22nd Avenue.

The pedestrian, who wasn't identified, was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center where their condition was unknown.

Footage showed the driver stayed at the scene and showed several officers investigating the incident.

The crash had Miami Gardens Drive westbound closed early Monday. The road was later opened back up.
