NBC 6's Dan Krauth has details of two suspects on bikes police say tried to commit a purse snatching.

Hollywood Police are trying to find two bicycle riding alleged purse snatchers who hit two women walking down the street near the corner of Van Burn and 19th earlier this month.

Surveillance video captured what happened as two men on bicycles rode up to the two women and tried to grab one of their purses. But the victim didn’t let go of the purse and tried to fight back. The robbery then took a violent turn.

Hollywood Police said one of the suspects got off his bike, dragged the woman from the sidewalk to the middle of the street. The alleged purse snatcher then started throwing punches and kicking both of the women.

Paramedics ended up taking both women to the hospital, but both were later released the same day.

Hollywood Police said they don’t have a lot of description of the two suspects past the video. One of the guys was wearing a pair of red shorts with stripes and the other was riding a BMX-style bicycle.

Both defendants face charges of robbery and aggravated battery.

If you have any information about the purse snatchings, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
