Student Accused in Shooting at Bethune-Cookman College

Authorities arrested a 21-year-old student in connection with a shooting that injured three other students at Bethune-Cookman College.

Ladell Pleasure was taken into custody Wednesday and faces multiple charges stemming from the Feb. 23 shooting on the Daytona Beach campus.

The students suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. The shooting took place in the parking lot that separates the music building from the football team's practice field.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports Pleasure told police he was at the scene but was not involved in the shooting. Investigators are still looking for another suspect.

Bethune-Cookman Public Safety Sgt. Ricky Hupp told Daytona Beach police he was standing in the music building hallway and saw Pleasure fire several shots.

It's not known whether Pleasure has hired an attorney.
