Toddler Found Alone in Hialeah Park

Hialeah Police said a three-year-old boy was found alone wandering in a park on the 1100 block of SE 9th Court in Hialeah.

The child was found by good Samaritans who called police. The toddler’s mother, who he lives with, was nowhere to be found when police arrived.

“Luckily, the child is just fine,” said Detective Carl Zogby of the Hialeah Police Department. “He was found, I guess, pretty quickly after he walked away from the apartment where he had been left alone.”

The child’s biological father was tipped off about the incident by a resident at the mother’s apartment complex. He showed up at the Hialeah Police Department to answer questions.

“We don’t know whether a crime has been committed or what has happened,” Zogby said. “First, we have to find her; and we hope we find her in good condition.”

The Florida Department of Children and Families has an open investigation as a result of the incident.
