Two people were transported to the hospital for burns Saturday after a truck they were working on caught fire.

The incident happened at 540 N. Flagler Ave. in Homestead. after the truck caught fire inside of a commercial garage. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Cheif Tom Strobble said the fire was extinguished within 10 minutes.

"When we arrived, there was heavy smoke and heavy flames," he said.

Two Suspects Identified in Connection to Hyrdroponics Lab, Home Explosion

One victim was flown to a trauma center and the other was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, authorities said. 

Strobble said access to the fire was limited due to a metal door.

"That was our biggest impediment at this point," he said.

Homestead Police and the city's code compliance officers were also on scene.
