    Two pedestrians were killed after they were struck by a minivan while crossing the road in Margate early Thursday, police said.

    The crash happened at about 12:22 a.m. at the intersection of North State Road 7 and Northwest 8th Street, Margate Police spokesman Lt. Gary Paquin said.

    An elderly man crashed his car into an apartment in Margate, authorities said Wednesday. The passenger of the car was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, but no other injuries were caused, Margate Chief Firefighter Dan Booker said. The driver was able to walk away from the car.     Margate Fire Rescue pronounced the man and woman dead at the scene. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, Paquin said.
