Prosecutors Still Probe NFL Player's Stabbing

Prosecutors say Brandon Marshall hasn't talked with them about stabbing

Prosecutors have tried to get Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall to talk with them about his stabbing, but so far he hasn't, the Broward State Attorney's Office said Tuesday.

Marshall's wife, Michi Nogami-Marshall, was arrested last month for allegedly stabbing her husband at their home.

"Despite numerous efforts, we so far have been unable to get Mr. Marshall to agree to voluntarily speak to our office about the incident. We continue to diligently pursue this matter," Ron Ishoy, spokesman for the Broward State Attorney's office said in a statement.

Nogami-Marshall faces aggravated battery charges and had a no contact order placed on her, prohibiting her from contacting her husband.

Harvey A. Steinberg, Marshall's attorney, told the Sun-Sentinel his client misses his wife.

"Brandon didn't ask for the no contact order, has never felt threatened by his wife, and misses her," Steinberg said. "When [they] drop the no contact order he'll be more than willing to sit down and discuss this matter, bringing some clarity to this unfortunate misunderstanding."

The newspaper also reported that Marshall has been out of town but will return to South Florida this week, and he has the intention of speaking with prosecutors.

But Steinberg advised him to not do it  "as long as the no contact order stands," the newspaper reported.
