Dwyane Wade Gets Job Offer From KFC

Wade's former employer wants him back

Looks like someone was paying attention when Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade tweeted "Any1 hiring?" at the start of the NBA lockout earlier this month.

Besides Turkish basketball teams and balloon artist booking agents, fried chicken chain KFC has inquired about the Heat guard's services should the NBA lockout cut into the 2011-2012 regular season.

KFC U.S. General Manager John Cywinski sent Wade an open letter Monday, offering him to return to the chicken chain where he worked before he became an NBA star.

"We couldn't help but notice your recent tweet about looking for a new line of work in light of the lockout," the letter reads. "It goes without saying we'd love to have you back on our team dishing out the World's Best Chicken, like you dish out assists on the court."

KFC can't pay Wade the $15 million-a-year salary he gets from the Heat, but the company did offer to make a donation in his name to its own merit-based college scholarship fund.

But if Wade wants to play hardball with KFC, he should try to get some jobs for his teammates. We hear Udonis Haslem has an excellent cole slaw recipe, and LeBron James and Chris Bosh could help Wade create a legendary front line at the cash registers.

Just don't ask James to close the restaurant at night. He might end up getting robbed by German thieves.
