Peezy Ready to Tell Dolphins Peace Out

The Dolphins have until March 1 to decide what to do with Joey Porter

Joey Porter is tired of being kicked around in Miami, so he is ready to take his ball and go home.

The Dolphins over-rated loud mouth opened it recently and finally said something Dolfans can be excited about. He's ready to leave South Beach.

Speaking on a radio show in California, Porter said he was not happy with his role on the team or how he is being used.

Translation: "All my trash talking looks pretty empty if I am riding the bench."

Porter said he would much prefer playing for a team closer to his hometown of Bakersfield, Ca., which means he wants to play for one of those West Coast juggernauts like the San Francisco 49ers or the Oakland Raiders where he could run his mouth 'til the cows come home.

Peezy, can we help you pack?

The Dolphins would have to make a decision on Porter by March 1, or else they would owe him $1 million roster bonus he doesn't deserve. The two sides are expected to meet this week to discuss the future, his agent said. Porter recorded nine sacks in 2009, but was far more bark than bite.

He talked his way into making Tom Brady and the New England offensive line put a hurt on him and the Dolphins in the team's first match up. Even off the field, Porter's mouth is so loud it gets other teammates' butts put in a sling. Just ask Ted Ginn. Jr.

The Dolphins benched Porter for his attitude during the meat of a failed playoff run and did just fine without him. Young players who could actually get off the snap without tripping over themselves got a chance to shine without the new mouth of the South gobbling up playing time.

If Porter leaves, that means more time for Cameron Wake, Charlie Anderson and a potential draft pick. The team would still have quality veteran leadership in Jason Taylor, if he is resigned (which he should be). Besides, one old pass rusher is more than enough for any team.

Porter gave us some good blog fodder and some good quotes, but far too few game-changing plays on D. So thanks for the laughs, Porter.

We'll always remember you on South Beach as the guy in the club with your shirt off known as "Popcorn Muscles."
