Fla. Family Found Living With Decomposing Body: Cops

Police said two adults face charges of child neglect after they and three children were found living in a Holly Hill, Florida home with a woman's decomposing body.

They said the adults also admitted using the disability benefits of the woman, who is believed to have died of natural causes.

Volusia County jail records show Todd LaDuke, 38, and Nicole Scalise, 31, are charged with child neglect, unlawful disturbance of a body and drug possession. La Duke's bond was set at $33,000 and Scalise's at $14,000. Jail records don't list an attorney.

Holly Hill is just north of Daytona Beach in east-central Florida.

Police said the children — ages 4, 6 and 11 — are with welfare officials. Police Chief Mark Barker calls it "the worst case of child endangered" he's seen.

LaDuke is also charged with uttering forged bills.
