It was a dreary start to the day in South Florida Monday, with heavy showers and storms in the middle Florida Keys.

A flood advisory was in effect for a portion of the morning in the middle Keys. No watches or warnings were in effect, however this will be something to monitor through the day.

An area of low pressure is pushing into the eastern Gulf of Mexico this week, bringing high rain chances to the area during the next five days. Some forecast models are forecasting up to seven inches of rain for the week.

The National Hurricane Center has placed a 20 percent chance of development, however we will be watching it slowly push in our direction during the next several days.
Basically, plan on off and on heavy downpours through the week, with flooding possible.

Showers are likely Monday with high temperatures around 87. Tuesday will see showers and storms and highs around 84.
