Sorry Kevin Arnold, Winnie Cooper is now a married woman.
The bride and groom exchanged vows in front of 150 people at an ocean-side church at sunset in La Jolla, Calif., in what the bride called an intimate ceremony.
"We wanted an intimate, formal event," said McKellar, who wore a mermaid-style wedding gown and tiara by Renee Strauss. She walked down the aisle to wedding music composed by Verta and performed by members of the San Diego Symphony.
Following the wedding, the couple and their guests enjoyed a sit-down dinner and danced to a 10-piece band during the reception at a private club. The newlyweds shared a first dance to an original love song written by Verta and performed by McKellar's uncle, Kim McKellar.
McKellar, 34, and Verta, 36, began dating in 2001 and got engaged last August in Chicago.
In addition to playing Winnie Cooper, McKellar is also a mathematician — she graduated summa cum laude from UCLA in 1998 with a BS in mathematics — and is the author of two best-selling books: "Math Doesn't Suck" and "Kiss My Math."
