10/21: Foodie Fork-Off

Local chef battle at Grand Central, straight up fun at Delano and rioja at Canyon Ranch

WHAT THE FORK: In its third year, the New Times'  foodie showdown, Iron Fork, is going down at Grand Central along North Miami Avenue in Downtown Miami. Some of the chefs return this year, including last year's winner, Chef John Critchley of Area 31 in the EPIC Hotel. He will battle Jose Luis Flores of De Rodriguez Restaurant Group and delicious bites will be served up from restaurants like Chef Allen's, 8 oz. Burger Bar, even El Rey de las Fritas. 6 P.M.

PLAY IT STRAIGHT: Head to The Florida Room at Delano Hotel as it hosts "Straight Up," an evening of chic, simple, fun with DJs JP Ricard and Mark Sacheli spinning all night. 10:30 P.M.

HEART HAPPY: A sip of one of the Riojas from Spain and you'll feel like you're in the country. Head to Canyon Ranch Hotel & Spa in Miami Beach tonight for a healthy menu that celebrates organic Rioja wines from Spain. $25, 6:30 P.M.
