Naïla Chbib launched her swimwear line, Naïla Collection, just last summer during Miami's annual Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim. Though the bikinis, monokinis, and eco-friendly swim trunks didn't hit stores until December, the designer — a Parsons alumna and veteran of Donna Karan and Alessandro Dell'Acqua — tells us that she's already sold out of her backstock.
"Everybody loved the concept. We received a lot of success on the collection — much more than expected, especially for a first collection," she says.
The demand was such that last month, Chbib began taking direct orders from fans. "Over Christmas, we had a lot of customers who contacted us directly because we were not present in their area yet." And while there are no more 2011 pieces left other than at her stockists, Chbib says she's hard at work on her 2012 line.
